Property & Address Display

Q: Why does my dashboard sometimes show “Property #123” instead of the address?
A: If your property is missing the address in its custom field, the dashboard falls back to showing the property title or ID. To fix this, edit the property in WordPress and add the correct address to the “Address” field.


Maintenance Records

Q: Can a maintenance record include new purchases, like a new furnace, or is it only for repairs and servicing?
A: Yes! Maintenance records can include purchases such as new equipment (e.g., furnace, air conditioner, appliances), upgrades, renovations, as well as traditional repairs and servicing. Consider setting a “Category” or “Type” field so you can distinguish these events.


Logging In

Q: How do I log in to HEY BODIE?
A: Use the site’s native WordPress login at /wp-login.php. You can also find a “Login” link in the site menu.


Registering & Managing Properties

Q: How do I register as a new user?
A: Visit the Registration page linked in the site menu. Follow the instructions to enter your username, email, and password.

Q: How do I add or edit a property?
A: After logging in, go to “Properties” in your dashboard. You can add new properties or edit existing ones. Make sure to fill in the address and other important details.


Filtering & Searching Records

Q: How can I filter maintenance records by property, category, or search term?
A: Use the filter form at the top of the dashboard page. Select the property and/or category, or enter a keyword in the search box, then click “Filter/Search”.


Troubleshooting

Q: Why isn’t my property address showing up in dropdowns or lists?
A: The address must be saved in the custom field named “address.” Edit the property and add or update the address as needed.

Q: I have old records showing only property IDs. How do I fix them?
A: Edit those property posts and ensure the address is entered in the correct field. For bulk fixes, contact support for assistance with updating multiple records at once.


General

Q: Who can see my property and maintenance records?
A: Only you (the logged-in user who created them) and site admins can view and manage your records.

Q: Can I export my maintenance records or property data?
A: Please contact support if you need to export your data; we can assist you with bulk export solutions.
